High-Strength Clutch Damper Spring

Product Introduction

The TEMB clutch damper spring is specifically designed for friction clutch systems in heavy-duty trucks, passenger cars, tractors, agricultural machinery and other power transmission equipment. Manufactured from high-quality alloy steel and high-carbon spring steel wire, the clutch damper spring is produced under an IATF 16949 quality management system to provide stable damping performance and long fatigue life.

Its core function is to cushion clutch engagement shock and absorb engine torque fluctuations. By reducing sudden torsional loads between the engine and transmission, the clutch damper spring supports smoother power transmission and helps protect the clutch disc, gearbox, shafts and other drivetrain components.

Key Features of the Clutch Damper Spring

High Torsional Load Capacity: The clutch damper spring is designed to withstand repeated compression and torque changes during vehicle starting, shifting, acceleration and deceleration.

Stable Vibration Damping: Optimized wire diameter, coil structure and spring rate help absorb drivetrain vibration and reduce impact during clutch engagement.

Long Fatigue Life: Selected spring steel, controlled heat treatment and surface treatment improve resistance to fatigue, deformation and wear.

Consistent Dimensional Accuracy: Precise forming and inspection help clutch damper springs fit correctly into the spring windows of clutch discs and damper assemblies.

Application Scenarios for Clutch Damper Springs

TEMB clutch damper springs are suitable for friction clutch and torsional damper assemblies used in the following applications:

Heavy-Duty Trucks and Commercial Vehicles

The clutch damper spring controls high torque fluctuations during starts, gear changes, hill climbing and heavy loads. High fatigue resistance fits demanding cycles.

Passenger Cars and Light Commercial Vehicles

In passenger vehicles, the clutch damper spring provides smoother clutch engagement and better driving comfort in urban driving, acceleration, deceleration and frequent gear changes.

Tractors and Agricultural Machinery

Agricultural machinery works under changing loads, towing and uneven terrain. High-strength clutch damper springs absorb torque shocks and reduce drivetrain vibration.

Construction and Off-Highway Machinery

Used in clutch systems with high load, vibration, dust and continuous operation, including construction and off-highway equipment.

Clutch Disc and Aftermarket Replacement Production

The clutch damper spring is supplied for clutch disc manufacturing, repair kits and automotive replacement parts.

OEM Drivetrain Projects

Custom clutch damper springs can be developed for new clutch systems based on torque, space, spring rate, environment and fatigue-life requirements.

How Does a Clutch Damper Spring Work?

A clutch damper spring is installed in the damper section of a clutch disc. When engine torque is transmitted, small angular displacement occurs between the disc plate and hub, compressing the clutch damper spring in the spring window.

During compression, the spring stores part of the torsional energy instead of passing the full impact to the transmission. When torque stabilizes, the clutch damper spring releases the energy and returns to its original position.

This process helps:

Smooth torque transmission between engine and gearbox

Cushion clutch engagement impact

Reduce vibration and gear rattle

Improve starting and shifting comfort

Protect drivetrain components from shock loads

In multi-stage systems, clutch damper springs with different sizes or spring rates engage progressively as torsional angle increases, providing softer damping at low load and stronger resistance at higher torque.
